Ripple Targets $13 Trillion Treasury Gap to Grow RLUSD’s Reach
Ripple‘s stablecoin chief said the company is targeting the $13 trillion corporate treasury market as the next growth engine for RLUSD, its stablecoin that currently holds a $2.4 billion market cap, according to CoinDesk.
The pitch centers on corporate treasurers who move roughly $13 trillion annually and could route a slice of that volume through RLUSD for payments and settlement instead of traditional bank rails. Ripple says it has already wired RLUSD into the cash management workflows of more than 1,000 enterprises, including Fortune 500 companies, a scale it is now trying to convert into transaction volume rather than just integration count.

The AI angle sharpens the pitch. Ripple has embedded governed AI agents, branded GSmart, directly into its treasury platform, giving finance teams an automated layer for liquidity forecasting, risk monitoring and reconciliation. Those agents can recommend whether to move funds through banks, RLUSD, or XRP depending on cost and speed, but human approval still gates every transaction, according to 247wallst.
Building The Rails Before The Demand Arrives
Ripple has spent roughly $1 billion acquiring a corporate treasury platform since 2025 and secured a MiCA license in Europe, moves that predate this AI rollout but set up the distribution Ripple now needs to convert treasury relationships into RLUSD flow.
Liquidity Venues Are Catching Up
RLUSD’s exchange footprint has expanded alongside the enterprise push, with the stablecoin going live on OKX across 280 trading pairs as its market cap crossed $1.5 billion earlier this year, before reaching its current $2.4 billion level. More liquid trading venues make it easier for treasury clients to enter and exit RLUSD positions without slippage, a prerequisite for any large corporate adopting it for settlement.
Whether the $13 trillion figure translates into actual RLUSD volume depends on how quickly finance teams trust AI-recommended fund routing over legacy bank transfers.
