Key Takeaways
- The company disclosed no retail price, shipping date or sensor package for the Doova robot
- Tuya built its business supplying white-label smart-home software to appliance brands for lighting, locks and other devices
- Tuya listed on the New York Stock Exchange in March 2021 and added a Hong Kong listing in 2024
Inside Tuya’s New AI Companion Robot
Doova debuted alongside Tuya’s broader IFA showcase of cloud and spatial-computing tools for smart devices, commercial equipment and industrial systems, per a PR Newswire release. Tuya also filed a Form 6-K with the SEC on Sept. 4 containing the IFA materials, per the filing.
The company disclosed no retail price, shipping date or sensor package. Doova’s stated purpose is helping elderly users live independently at home.
Tuya built its business supplying white-label smart-home software to appliance brands, letting manufacturers add remote control and voice commands to lighting, locks and other devices without writing their own code.
It listed on the New York Stock Exchange in March 2021 and added a Hong Kong listing in 2024.
Doova marks a shift from that backend role toward a consumer-facing branded device. Tuya used the term “physical AI” in its IFA materials to describe artificial intelligence embedded in real-world hardware, robots and appliances, rather than cloud-only chatbots.

Tuya was not alone.
Rival appliance makers used the same Berlin floor to pitch competing AI smart-home ecosystems, underscoring how quickly the eldercare-robotics category is filling with entrants.
No launch region, retail timeline, health-monitoring feature set, subscription fee or one-time price has been disclosed. That gap between a Berlin unveiling and a shipping product is what separates a real revenue line from a trade-show demo, and Tuya has not closed it yet.
