Bitcoin ETFs Lose $366M In A Day, Taking Weekly Outflows To $1.47B
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs lost $366.66 million in a single day, taking their outflows over the past week to $1.47 billion as Bitcoin slid about 5% to near $75,500.
Key Takeaways
- Bitcoin ETFs saw net outflows of 4,832 BTC, worth $366.66 million, in the latest daily count
- Over seven days they lost 19,343 BTC, worth $1.47 billion
- Ethereum ETFs lost $57.31 million in a day and $391.22 million over the week
- Bitcoin fell about 5% and Ethereum about 6.6% in the past 24 hours
The figures come from on-chain tracker Lookonchain, which posted its daily ETF flow update on X on Friday. Lookonchain tracks the wallets of the ETF issuers, so its numbers are estimates and can differ slightly from the official totals the funds publish later.
The Numbers
| ETFs | 1-day net flow | 7-day net flow |
|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin | Down $366.66 million (4,832 BTC) | Down $1.47 billion (19,343 BTC) |
| Ethereum | Down $57.31 million (25,590 ETH) | Down $391.22 million (174,687 ETH) |
The selling sped up after a brief pause. In the previous day’s update, Bitcoin ETFs had a small inflow of $16.56 million and their seven-day outflow stood at $1.12 billion. One bad day pushed it up by about $350 million.
What It Means For Bitcoin’s Price
Spot ETFs hold real Bitcoin. When investors sell ETF shares in large amounts, the trading firms that manage the funds’ share supply redeem them, and the funds no longer need to hold as much Bitcoin. That removes one of the steadiest sources of buying the market has had since these funds launched in 2024.
Bitcoin was trading near $75,546 on Friday afternoon, down about 5% in 24 hours, according to CoinGecko. Ethereum fell harder, down about 6.6% to near $2,227.
The flow data does not say who is selling. ETF shares are held by everyone from financial advisers to hedge funds and ordinary investors, so the outflows show money leaving, not which group is leaving.

Ethereum Funds Are Bleeding Too
Ethereum ETFs have now lost more than 174,000 ETH, worth $391.22 million, in a week, and Ether fell harder than Bitcoin on Friday. Unlike Bitcoin funds, Ethereum funds did not even get a full day of relief this week, outside a $40.18 million inflow in the previous update.
What To Watch
Watch whether the outflows ease in the next few daily updates. If ETF selling slows while Bitcoin holds near $75,000, sellers may be running out of steam. If outflows keep growing, the ETF bid that helped support prices earlier this year will look much weaker than investors assumed.
